  • Submission Period: July 22, 2018 – Sep 15, 2018

  • ASMAS Board deliberates to select 5 nominees per category: Sep 16-Oct 15 2018

  • Public Voting period (of nominees): Oct 16 – Nov 15, 2018

  • Awards ceremony: Jan 15, 2019 posting of virtual awards ceremony for 1st annual Snazzy Awards. Future ceremonies to be held in New York City and live-streamed on the web.

VOTING AND SCORING PROCESS

  • The five nominees per category will be announced at the beginning of the voting period.

  • Voting on nominees will open on October 16, 2018 and close on November 15, 2018 11:59 PM EST.

  • Users can vote an unlimited number of times per day, per influencer by clicking "Vote" on the Snazzy Awards website and selecting among several social media platforms in which to cast their vote. Users are not required to log in to Snazzy Awards to vote, but must have an active social media account for the platform(s) they select to cast their votes.

  • Once voting has closed, winners will be determined by an algorithm that ranks nominees based on combination of number of votes from the public and scores from the the ASMAS Board. The nominee with the highest ranking will be the winner in their category.

NOMINEE SELECTION

  • Nominees are determined by the Academy of Social Media Arts & Sciences (ASMAS) Board. Selections are based on the nominees’ body of work on social media in 2018.

  • The ASMAS Board will not consider nominee recommendations from the public. Nominee selections by the Board are final.

CAMPAIGNING AND AUDITING

  • Nominees are welcome to campaign and encourage friends and followers to vote for them.

  • We reserve the right to disqualify voters or nominees that do any of the following: violate trademarks, infringe copyrights, impersonate others (except in the Parody category), invade privacy, make threats of violence, promote illegal activities, pornography, or hate speech, spam others, use bots, scripts or other automated means for voting, engage in abusive behavior, promise payment in exchange for votes, or otherwise violate the friendly spirit of the awards.

  • The Snazzy Awards use several algorithms to automatically disqualify voting activity that appears to be intended to game the system or come from suspicious accounts. Suspicious accounts include ones that use bots, scripts, issue repetitive automatic votes, appear to have been created specifically for Snazzy Awards voting, or exhibit other behavior that violates the spirit of the awards.

  • A final vote audit will occur after the voting period ends.

AWARDS CEREMONY

  • Each winner will receive the Snazzy Award of Merit statuette honoring their exceptional content.

  • The first annual Snazzy Awards ceremony will be virtual and take place utilizing social media technology such as Skype and Face Time interviews, FaceBook Live, and recorded acceptance speeches, which will be used for an edited production of the awards ceremony.

  • Future ceremonies will be held in New York City and live-streamed on the web site.

  • Every effort will be made to ensure each winner receives their award at the conclusion of the first annual award season. Winners will have an opportunity to submit a video accepting their award, which will be included in an edited production of the virtual awards ceremony.

ADMINISTRATOR; RELEASE; LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Snazzy Awards are administered by ASMAS LLC (“Snazzy Awards”), which will be entitled to make all final decisions regarding the awards in its sole discretion.

Snazzy Awards reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, cancel or modify the Snazzy Awards at any time. By participating in the Snazzy Awards, whether as a nominee, a nominator or otherwise, each participant agrees to release and hold Snazzy Awards and its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, consultants and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the awards, including, without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Snazzy Awards reserves the right to publish all entries wholly or in part, as case studies or for publicity purposes.

PARTICIPANTS AGREE THAT PARTICIPATION IN THE SNAZZY AWARDS SHALL BE AT THEIR SOLE RISK. IN NO EVENT SHALL SNAZZY AWARDS BE LIABLE UNDER CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER LEGAL THEORY (I) FOR ANY LOST PROFITS OR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER, SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES (HOWEVER ARISING) OR (II) FOR ANY DIRECT DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF (IN THE AGGREGATE) $100. THE FOREGOING LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW IN THE APPLICABLE JURISDICTION.

USER SUBMISSIONS; APPEARANCE RELEASE

Any and all content submitted by a nominator, a nominee or any other participant in the Snazzy Awards is referred to in these Terms of Service as a "User Submission." Each participant shall be solely responsible for his or her own User Submissions and the consequences of submitting them. By submitting a User Submission, the participant represents and warrants that he or she owns or has the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to his or her User Submissions (and all content included therein), including the right to authorize Snazzy Awards to use the User Submissions in the manner contemplated herein. By submitting the User Submissions to us for public display, the participant hereby grants us an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions in any media formats now or hereafter created and through any media channels now or hereafter created. Finally, by submitting the User Submission, the participant represents and warrants that the submission is not done in violation of any state, federal, or international law or regulation, including, but not limited to, laws regulating personal data protection.

In addition, any person who attends the awards ceremony or any other event associated with the Snazzy Awards hereby grants us the irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable right to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and perform any audio recordings, photographs, video or other images in which such person may be included that are taken at such event, whether accurate or distorted in character or form, without restrictions to changes or transformations, in conjunction with such person’s own name or a fictitious name at our discretion, or no name at all.

The use of any trademark, service mark or logo of Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube or any other media outlet is not meant to imply such media outlet’s endorsement of, or affiliation, with The Snazzy Awards in any way.

We will not tolerate violations of intellectual property rights. If you are a copyright owner and believe that any User Submission or other Content infringes upon your copyrights, you may submit a notification pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"). To provide us notice of an infringement, you must provide a written communication to the attention of "DMCA Infringement Notification Dept." at ASMAS LLC, PO Box 1073 New York, New York 10023 or by email to info@Snazzyawards.com that sets forth the information specified by the DMCA (see http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap5.html#512). You may be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys' fees) if you materially misrepresent that an activity is infringing your copyright.
